Olympia
Olympia Little Athletics Club was formed in the early 1970’s and last year we had more than 100 little athletes competing in our club colours. Over the years Olympia athletes have had a strong presence both within the Melville Little Athletics Centre, and at a Zone and State level. We welcome new members to come and join us.
Uniform
Purple Olympia shirt (available from the club) with black shorts / bike pants / briefs.
Training
Our training takes place on Wednesday’s – 4:30pm to 5:30pm for U6-U8 and 5:15pm to 6:30pm for U9-U10.
Our U11 and over train on Tuesday’s from 5pm to 6:30pm.
We train at Len Shearer Reserve, Booragoon.
This training covers various events each week. We ask that parents of U6-U10 athletes remain present at the training session.
Athletes should wear comfortable clothes, joggers, hat, and sunscreen, and bring with them a drink bottle.
Parent Involvement
Little Athletics is a family commitment, and one parent will need to provide some form of assistance on competition days. Rosters will be allocated one-in-three weeks when only one child in the family is registered, and one-in-two weeks when two or more children in the family are registered. Each family is required to sign a parent agreement.
Parent assistance at training on Wednesdays is always appreciated by the coaches. You can help with setting up the equipment, assist with coaching the athletes in various events, or simply playing a ‘crowd control’ role by ensuring the kids are listening to the coaches and waiting their turn patiently. Please advise a committee member if you are able to assist in coaching duties, or see one of our coaches at training.
