Middle Distance – Athlete of the month

Kayla Van Der Linden is the Middle Distance Academy’s Athlete of the month.

Kayla’s consistently good work ethic at training has been inspiring all of us this season.
She not only runs very fast but also displays great leadership to both the girls and the boys in our training group
Kayla was rewarded for her hard work at training just recently with a stunning win in the open women’s 800m at Friday night Seniors in a slick PB time of 2:12

Year end update

Congratulations to all Melville Roar teams who competed over the weekend at the State Relay Championships. The number of medals won by Melville Roars teams is testament to the hard work put in by the athletes and coaches.

So what’s next?
1. This Saturday 9th December we are back at Len Shearer with Program 1 starting at 7:45am
2. The following Saturday 16th December is a twilight meet starting at 4:45pm
3. Santa will be hard at work so this will allow athletes, parents/helpers and coaches to have a well earned break!






4. We are back at Len Shearer in the new year starting on Saturday 13th January with Program 1 at 7:45am.

Meet your Melville Roar captains

Congratulations to Caitlin Blackman and Cameron Broughton on being selected as the 2017/2018 captains. Both Cameron and Caitlin have been part of the Melville Roar team for many years with experience spanning center athletics, state relay championships and national level competition.

Our center chairman proudly presented them with their captain shirts this past Saturday.
