Coaches: this is a championship event so ensure you know the rules and regulations.

Parents/Volunteers: please keep an eye out for roster emails.

If this is your first time here are some tips to get the most out of the day:

  • Arrive early. Your coaches will have a plan so know the plan.
  • IMPORTANT Call room procedures – There will be a call room in operation. This is located at the Southern End of the grandstand (Near the 100m start line) and will be split into TWO (2) areas, one for track and one for field.
ALL athletes are required to report into the Call Room prior to each event/discipline. The Call Entry Times at the CALL ROOM are (prior to scheduled event starting times):
    •  Track Events – 20 mins prior
    •  Field Events – 35 mins prior
  • Where a team / athlete fails to report to the call room prior to the last athlete crossing the Call Room departure line, then the team / athlete shall not be permitted to join the event.
  • It can be a long day so make sure you hydrate, have good sun protection and have a good nutrition plan.
  • Have fun and encourage each other
  • Go the ROAR!!

Well done to all athletes and a big thanks to all the volunteers who’ve made the first 6 weeks of competition a success.

Many athletes will be training extra hard for the up-and-coming WA State Relay Championships which are now less than 4 weeks away. Relay information can be found on the boards at Len Shearer on competition days and your relay coaches will also keep you informed of training sessions and important information as we get closer to the relay champs.

More relay information can be found here.

We have 4 more Saturday competitions before the festive season break so keep training hard and chase those PB’s.

Discover Little Athletics

Little Athletics is a fun, social and active program for girls and boys aged 5 to 16. There is a wide range of events including running, jumping, throwing and walking. These events are modified to suit the age and ability of the children.

Little Athletics promotes that it is important to “Be your Best”. The emphasis is on fun, participation and technique and getting involved with your family and friends in physical activity.

Melville Little Athletics Centre is based at Len Shearer Reserve, Booragoon. This is where we hold our weekly competition on Saturday mornings from October to March each year. We have four clubs that compete at our Centre; these are Brentwood, Leeming, Olympia and Palmyra-Bicton. When registering with Melville Little Athletics Centre you join one of our Clubs and compete for them at our weekly competitions.

At Melville we offer Little Athletics from Under 6 to Under 17. Your age on 31 December determines your age group. For example, if you turn 9 in 2021, you register in Under 10.

Registrations open on Saturday 4 September from the registration link on this website.
